Yenokavan village is located in Tavush Province, north-east of Armenia, 152 km from Yerevan. The northern part of Yenokavan is covered with hills, while the southern part is occupied by a canyon 5 km long and 100 m high. Along this canyon, through a dense forest, a path leads to the Tandzut River in which brook trout breeds, whereas the forest is rich in wild pear and plum trees, as well as in wild dogwood and raspberry bushes (by the way, Tandzut means “pear thickets”).&nbsp;

However, Yenokavan is also interesting for thrill-seekers. It is for them that the first extreme amusement park in Armenia was created here. Everyone will find something to their liking - horse riding, paintball, rope park, zorbing, off-road driving and many other activities. Here you can zipline at an altitude of 200 - 300 meters. On the way, make stops at waterfalls on a mountain stormy river, lend an ear to the melody of the forest, have a swim in the purest mountain river. So that the trek to the caves does not seem long, make a halt in a tent camp with wooden houses.

The main cave is located on a vertical slope, and to get to this cave, people built a ladder of logs, reminiscent of a raft. Hence the name Lastiver, which is translated from Armenian as “up the raft”. In the Middle Ages local residents escaped from the Mongol invasion in these caves. There are also khachkars (cross - stones) carved on the walls, so the caves serve as a place of pilgrimage as well. Lastiver is located in a gorge in the middle of a dense virgin forest. This is a paradise for ecotourism lovers.
